A village that we advise you to visit upon your arrival with us, but imperatively to have visited before leaving. The canals will seduce you, indeed at us only the boats are missing.
The Lake of Ganivet
Located on the upper Colagne, at 1,044m above sea level, the lake offers the opportunity to pedal, canoe on the lake, indulge in the joys of petanque, walking, mountain biking or simply to cool off, ice in hand and feet in the water…
For fishermen, this small shallow lake is home to some pretty trout from the La Colagne river, as well as studs or minnows. Located in the first category, it is easily fished with worm, artificial lures and fly.

- The rock of peyre
The Rock of Peyre is an isolated volcanic piton consisting of basalt and approximately dated to the pliocene. It’s pretty much contemporary to the Fare thing, further south. Like him, it cannot be linked to the volcanism of Aubrac, which predates its formation.
It dominates to the south the gorges dug by the river Crueize known as the Valley of Hell.
The Lake of Charpal
Artificial lake created between the two wars for the needs of the army to submerge surplus ammunition, This explains the construction in 1923 of a railway line to transport the materials necessary for the construction of the dam and the ammunition, but the project will not succeed. Today drinking water reserve of the city of Mende. The lake is also known for its wealth of flora and fauna. This lake offers landscapes worthy of the atmosphere of the lands of Canada. - Trick of fortunio
You will have a breathtaking view of Lake Charpal.
The tip of Fortunio is the highest point of the Margeride, a natural region located mainly in Lozère, but also in Cantal and in the Haute-Loire.
- The blueberry and the tournel castle
The castle of Tournel is a feudal castle located in the commune of Saint-Julien-du-Tournel in Lozère. Former seat of the barons of Tournel, one of the eight baronies of Gévaudan, it was destroyed during the Wars of Religion by the Huguenot troops of Matthieu Merle.”
- The mausoleum of Lanuéjols
In Lanuéjols there was a vast agricultural estate, perhaps located on the site of the present Boy’s Castle. The owners of this estate probably exploited iron and copper seams at Mont Lozère. These notables had a funerary enclosure west of the village of Lanuéjols. About fifty graves were discovered there. Most of these tombs were built with edge tiles or flat stones. Some were made of tuff covered with mortar.
The Lake of Naussac
Lake Naussac is a reservoir of the Naussac dam. It is the largest lake in the French department of Lozère. The former village of Naussac was below the water level of the lake and was flooded.
- The Cathedral of Mende
It was in 1368 that Pope Urban V, of Gévaudanaise origin, decided the construction of the cathedral Notre Dame and Saint Privat. In the 16th century, François de la Rovère had the large bell tower (84 m) built in a remarkable Flamboyant Gothic style. The Cathedral was later enriched with rich and varied furnishings, including the tapestries of Aubusson, dating from 1706 and representing scenes from the New Testament.

The Lake of Bonnecombe
The Bonnecombe pond is located in the canton of Saint-Germain-du-Teil, near the town of Les Salces below the Col de Bonnecombe.
At 1350 meters above sea level on the Aubrac, the pond is an ideal place to come and fish for rainbow trout.
Several pontoons were moved in for easy access during a walk around the pond. However, the setting remains wild enough to observe the local flora and fauna.

- The Pont du Bès: a very romantic place where basaltic stone is carved in such a special way that it makes this site unique, swimming is very fresh so it is a perfect place for a picnic
- Nasbinals Waterfall of Receding

Access to the waterfall from a small road departing from the town of Nasbinals. Following the stream, one arrives at the edge of the ravine. There, the tributary of the Bès and the waters of Lake Salhiens rush from the basalt ledge under which a cave was formed. Its ceiling consists of large basaltic prisms remarkable for their geometry.
- St come d’olt:
Small Atyipic vilage, take the opportunity to walk in the alleys and to visit the art workshops which is located in the center. A walk along the Lot is also possible
- St geniez d’olt:
Cited where the cloister creates a very special atmosphere, the whole city revolves around this place full of history, climb to the virgin to enjoy a point of view on the city and the Lot
The Lake of Born
The Born lake is located in the communes of Salces and Machastel, on the Aubrac plateau. With a surface area of 151 hectares, it is surrounded by wetlands and peat, which make its ecological interest.
They are home to populations of European otter, curlew, rotundifolia drosera, flute, etc. as many protected and/or threatened species that live in these exceptional spaces.
It is not uncommon to cross herds of Aubrac cows all around the lake.
Besides its rich biodiversity, Born Lake offers a typical panorama of the landscapes of the Aubrac plateau.

he Déroc waterfall dominates by 30 meters the small glacial valley of the Gambaïse stream: breathtaking views of the Marchastel region with, in the background, the vast expanses of the Aubrac granitique lozérien.
Access to the waterfall from a small road departing from the town of Nasbinals. Following the stream, one arrives at the edge of the ravine. There, the tributary of the Bès and the waters of Lake Salhiens rush from the basalt ledge under which a cave was formed. Its ceiling consists of large basaltic prisms remarkable for their geometry.
This cave discovered by Doctor Prunière was to serve as a refuge for robbers of the great roads.

Let yourself be enchanted by the charm of the cobbled streets, fortified towers, ramparts and doors superbly restored. A short stroll or historical visit, discovery of the Ursulines Museum, everyone will find his happiness in this charming medieval village nestled on the banks of the Truyère.
A city with a turbulent history: The sixteenth century will be marked by the wars of Religion and the Huguenot captain Mathieu Merle who in 1573 used cunning to take the walled city, enclosing in passage the notables of the city in the Clock Tower.
After the plague of 1631 and the fire ensued, Italian masons helped to rebuild the village. Keep an eye out, and you will no doubt discover these magnificent monumental doors so characteristic!
The Lake of St Andéol
This 11-hectare glacial lake is probably the best known of the Aubrac plateau. Located in the municipality of Marchastel, it regularly sees hikers of the Camino de Santiago de Compostela pass by.
The bogs that surround it are full of plants and animals that are specific to these wetlands, including Curlew, Rotundifolia Drosera, Spinulous Spore Quillwort, Lake Quillwort, etc.

The Lake of Moulinet
On the heights of Marvejols, at Lac du Moulinet, come and enjoy the unspoilt landscapes and the absolutely incredible fauna and flora. Included in the perimeter of the Parc Naturel Régional de l’AUBRAC and located on the river Crueize, the lake (classified in first category) is open for swimming and water sports.
Lovers of nature, you will be able to observe in any season the Mallard, the Otter, the Snipe and even with a little luck the Great tit, the Milan royal or the Snipe of the marshes. During your walks, you will also discover the specific flora of the lake and its peat bogs. The populations of Rainbow Trout and Fario, Pike, Perches, Tanches, Chevesnes and small whitewater cyprinids make it a popular place for fishermen.

Laguiole is the name of a knife, a cheese but above all the name of a village. We invite you to discover its alleys and its small heritage… visit the cutlery and especially do not go home without cheese
